I don't think the VBulletin software allows for deleting an account. Pretty stupid, considering the privacy awareness these days.

I think you'd be better off changing all your information to something John-Doe-like, change your email to johndoe@example.com, make a horrendous password and just walk away. That's what I do for forum software that doesn't allow deleting accounts. (This is not the admin that's not willing, it's the software that makes it impossible).
