Default Can't post in New to Java subforum?!?

I am learning Java and appreciate this website.
I can log in and post, obviously, as I am doing now.
But whenever I go to the first sub-forum (New to Java), I get logged out automatically. No matter how many times I log in again, that one subforum will automatically log me out again. So I can't post there. As a new beginner, it would be nice to be able to post there...
Does anyone else have that problem? Can you go to that "New to Java" subforum and see if you have a "New Post" button, or does it go into an endless loop of asking you to log in?
Very strange (a broken website on a java programmers forum!!)
This happens to me on firefox, explorer, and chrome, so not browser related.

    Thanks,
    Drew

Moved from forum Lobby to Suggestions & Feedback.

I just tried and I don't have the problem you describe. If I were you, I would try clearing all cookies. I'm not claiming that would solve your problem, but it would be the next thing to try (if you haven't already).

I had a similar problem yesterday when going to a post from email. I think it was the JavaFX forum.
Logged in, but it kept cycling round and treating me as logged out, but for that sub forum only.

    Very odd.

It's fine today...but this is a different machine.

I have those issues regularly, for me it is agressive caching. I often have this situation:

    - create post
    - aggressive caching: page is shown without the added post. CTRL + F5, post is shown

    <other things and stuff>

    - notice you missed something / made a horrible typo
    - edit post and save

At this point the forum software would want to show your edited post directly in the thread by putting an anchor in the url. However, aggressive caching: the anchor for your post links to something which does not exist in the cached version of the page. The result is that the site keeps reloading the page for some reason. CTRL + F5 to hard refresh the page, edited post is there so the anchor works and the site stops "looping".

Well, today I can go to the "New to Java" subforum just fine (I was going to try the clear cookies and cache and found all was working well already). But When I try to see my own old pasts, it looks like I am logged out, until I hit "reply to post", then I am back logged in again.
I guess my account is just an example that no matter how many times you test code, one in a 1000 cases will fail. Maybe my account is just that one...

Yeah there can be obscure bugs. A couple of years ago my avatar refused to display until the forum administrator changed my display name from Darryl.Burke to DarrylBurke. He never didi discover why though.
