    Default Java9 Preview

Since everybody is sitting on the beach drinking Grolsch, I thought I share some fun read for vacation days.

Something's a bit off about this beach...it looks exactly like an open plan office.
And this Grolsch is distinctly watery.

An open office is the beach - or is it a Zoo?
I glanced over Java 9 yesterday and the message I am taking away: Not a whole lot of innovation

Getting our monolithic Swing application to play nice with the module system will be a challenge. And I hope they finally support Exceptions in lambdas. Converting all our stuff to Java 9 will be far away for us, so I'll have some time to play with it. Keep posting your experiences here so I don't have to suffer :)

What to expect in those java updates? Do they make sence? or just change syntax andd make programming harder?

I do not know if they make sense since I haven't really been following Java 9. But as far as I know, none of the Java versions have made programming
harder since they are optional to use. You can still use AWT (and not Swing), you don't have to use generics but can simply cast the objects as before. And you don't have to use method references or Lambdas. Nor do you have to use any of the concurrency classes but can roll your own. But I find in the long run, using them will make coding easier and more robust. Time will tell with Java 9.
