    Default strategy suggestion

Hi, I have some basic programming knowledge from college but not extensive. I am trying to read in some data from text files about 50 - 60 MB. I need to do some statistical calculation on portions of the data (Date, Time, float, float, float, float, int). What's the best way to manipulate this amount of data....tackling it line by line takes a very long time.

    Any suggestions

What do you mean tackling it line by line? You can read in a line at a time using buffered input so it should not take any longer than other methods. And what type of manipulation do you want to use? You need to provide more information.
