Default "javac" command not working in windows 10

Hi first time poster here. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem. When I type the command "javac HelloWorldApp.java" I get a message saying ""javac" is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." If you have experienced this have you found a work around? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out :)

You need to modify your Path environment variable to point to the JDK bin directory where the Java commands reside.

javac" is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
The OS can not find the javac command. Is it on the machine? Is there an entry in the Path environment variable that points to the folder that contains the javac command?

Can you execute the javac command by using a full path to the command file? Like this:
    D:\Java\jdk1.8.0_25\bin\javac.exe -cp . -Xlint TestCode21.java
If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.
