Angry j Type files can't compile. Please Help.

So this only happens on my main PC at home. When ever I compile something that's .java it creates a .class file as it should. The problem is, for some reason my Windows (7) sets the "type" to "j". Because of that, when I try to run the
java blahblah.class regardless if I put the .class or not, it says file cannot be found. Meanwhile the same files will run on my laptop without any modification and the "type" on my laptop is "CLASS" or something like that. Any ideas? Thanks.

Default Re: j Type files can't compile. Please Help.

Can you show us the directory listing before compiling, then show the compilation command, and then the directory listing after compiling?

Windows can't magically change the extension.
Please do not ask for code as refusal often offends.
