    Default Programatically Moving Desktop Icons

So, sometimes when my desktop resolution changes the icons get all screwed up. So I thought, it would be kinda cool to write a program to save the location of desktop icons and then you could run the program to reset their locations. But I have absolutely no idea how to go about getting/moving the icons within a program. Does anyone know about how to do this?

What does this have to do with Java?

I'd like to know how one would get information on the placement of desktop icons and move them using Java.

I don't know of any Java API for that. You would need native calls, which implies using JNI/JNA. Or just use C++ instead.
