The file eclipse.exe (in MS Windows) is a rather small executable file that tries to find a Java virtual machine; if found it starts it; the jvm in turn starts the main part of eclipse which is all written in Java.

how to create an executable program.
A class file with a proper main() method can be executed using the java command: java <CLASSNAME>
If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.
