gui tutorials
hello java forums. ^^
i was just trying to create some decent gui's and noticed that i actually don't have the required skills needed to make decent gui's...
so i started searching the internet for some nice gui tutorials in java.
but i haven't found any...
every tutorial i found was just a simple one... (so only one layoutmanager)
so my question is do you guys know any site/online tutorial that can help me making decent gui's
or any plugins, addons that can simplify making gui's?

Re: gui tutorials
One good site is the java tutorials:
The Really Big Index
It has links to sections of the tutorials for all topics. If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.

@liluma; about your avatar: what is that? It looks like a filthy leftover from an operating theatre *yuck*.

Re: gui tutorials
A nebula? Eeeeeew! Shouldn't it be muzzeld? They may look like slimey blobs but they have killer fangs and claws!
Gui creators are worse than a mixed blessing; if you don't know exactly how the internals of gui objects work and if you don't know what that builder is doing you end up with a bunch of code you don't understand and can't sensibly manipulate anymore (if that builder allows you to change the generated code). Better build the gui by hand ...

Re: gui tutorials
it's indeed a nebula in space...
don't know, but i like the pictures when you see it in full size...
on topic:
i know there are some "good' gui creators, but i dislike using them...
first of all because you actually don't learn a thing about the gui and secondly because of the fact that with gui creators, your gui isn't dynamical, but mostly fixed positions,...
so that's why i want to learn how to fully code a gui myself.
i know all the(or at least most) obejcts that you can create with swing, javax, ... but the problem is just the layout... to me that is just a painstaking thing to do in java.

It doesn't quite look like Orion's to me. :)
