The process of what you have to download and install is covered in the "Hello World!" for Solaris OS and Linux chapter of Sun's Tutorial.
Lacking an internet connection you will have to get someone to download the SDK mentioned on that page and put it on a CD. There is a documentation bundle available that should also be downloaded and the Tutorial itself.
Although not strictly necessary, Ubuntu can sometimes work more sweetly if you install from a .deb file. These can also be downloaded and copied to CD but for instructions on just what you should download and how you should set up Synaptic or whatever to use a CD rather than an internet connection, you are better off asking on an Ubuntu forum like the UbuntuForums programming forum.
