Default " javaw " not recognized

Hello, I'm new to these forums

I was wondering if anyone could help me fix this problem, I am trying to run a program and when I click run, my cmd prompt box pops up for less than a second displaying this message:

' javaw ' is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I have the latest java (dl'ed from java dot com), and I have no idea why it won;t work

Any help would be greatly apreciated

Did you download and install it then?
Did you also add the bin directory to your PATH variable?
