Default Address space with 32-bit processor

So for a 32-bit processor, the address space is theoretical 4096MB. So does that mean if I have 4GB of ram on my computer, then my system won't be using any virtual memory?

i don't know how/when memory is allocated to the jvm, but i'm sure that if it saves 4 gigs of space, that virtual memory will be used by one program or another. your computer will still have to run various programs, including your os.
