Default Issue with oracle driver version?

Hi, I am getting the following error
    java.lang.ClassCastException: java.sql.Timestamp incompatible with java.sql.Date

with my code on QA environment but the same code works on our dev environment w/o any issues.

Is anyone aware if its related to oracle driver version
we are currently using Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release

Is there a change in the database schema between the dev environment and QA environment. Because, your error is not because of the driver change.

If the data type is Timestamp, what the hell is Date doing there ???
dont worry newbie, we got you covered.
