    Default what is and how works the first ?, example.com/details?page=4

    example.com/details?page=4

    example.com/index.jsp?page=4
    example.com/index.jsp?page=46
    example.com/index.jsp?page=9

    what is and how works the first ? is it folder or page? if page what ext ?

    when multiple page layouts come from differ x in index.jsp?page=x , how works ? is it html code from database field ?

    You are not making any sense.

    page is just a parameter being passed to the index.jsp
    What it is used for can be found by reading the code in index.jsp.
    You need to find a JSP/Servlets tutorial and read it.

    what about first case ? "details" is it folder or page? if page what ext, .jsp?
    about second case: i know that may get the param in get [non post]
    but sometimes whole pages have differ layout ...I do not think to be param, and sometimes whole site's pages are all derived from a signle x page , well?

    /detail would be a mapping to servlet in the web.xml.
    Do yourself a favor and read the tutorials like I suggested.

    might be they mapped page with "details" for security issues.Please go thru web related tutorial along with jsp and servlets of sun for clear picture.
