SCJA preparation
I am currently struggling my way through McGraw Hill's SCJA study guide by Liguori & Finegan after completing a Java 101 course (of which I got a high distinction I might add
)
I'm finding some of the review questions quite difficult & can't help but wonder if they're irrelevant. Often a question's subject matter is not covered within the chapter material, plus I believe they are out of scope of the SCJA exam objectives.
For example, Chapter 3 Question 2 :
Which set of operators represents the complete set of valid Java assignment operators?
Answer: C. %=, &=, *=, /=, ^=, |=, +=, <<=, =, -=, >>=, >>>=
Yet only a subset of these are covered on the exam (=, +=, -=).
Not to mention the assumed prior knowledge of classes & interfaces. (Which I have, but isn't SCJA for beginners?)
Does anyone have any advice/experience with this book? Is there a better study guide?
Or am I off the mark & need more experience with Java before attempting the SCJA?
