Default Need serious help with a board game with tetris-like figures

Okay I am not creating this using Java. But I am creating this using this language called Dream Maker. Its the language of the software of BYOND(byond.com) if you don't know this. There they provide you with the engine, a compiler and everything. But I am stuck! I have been suffering and possibly even losing sleep because I can't solve this problem and can't stop making this. I need a formula or something. Maybe you can give me a pseudo-code? I remember getting help in creating poker using C++.

In the game we have dice that become into figures like tetris on the board creating a dungeon. It's a board game. And I have programmed so that when you mouse over it adds overlays of the figure you want to create on the board, you can change it into variations, it wont go over the map edge and it wont create on top of other dungeons. Now I'm trying to make it so that the figure will ONLY be placed on the map if it's connected to the life point mob or another dungeon. and THAT is what i have failed at doing. I did it for like 5 hours and still cant solve this issue. Here you can see the Gameboy Advance version of this game I am creating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5AqQ9KKnXs (0:39-0:47). What I mean is that I made it so that when its over the edge the dungeon disappears and you can't create it and when its over another dungeon it also disappears and you can't create it. But you can create the dungeon ANYWHERE. What I NEED to do is make is so that it will create the dungeon figure ONLY HORIZONTALLY OR VERTICALLY right by the life point monster or right by another dungeon. And I can't do it. Its much harder to do than the way it sounds to me. Can anyone help me?

But what can anyone do so you can do it? I mean consider I change your question to this.

"I want to jog, but I can't do it. I tried my best but I keep running out of breath after 2 minutes and my legs cramp up. I can't do it. Can anyone help me?"

Not much anyone else can do if that is the only problem description you have to give; keep at it, keep studying, keep learning things. Eventually hopefully something will click. If not: try different tools.

Did you really ask that question and expect a solution? It would be almost impossible for someone to provide you the answer you seek. This is a Java forum and if you provide your code and ask a specific question as to why something doesn't work, then we might be able to help. Have you considered posting your code and question at a site appropriate for the tools you are using?

the figure will ONLY be placed on the map if it's connected to the life point mob or another dungeon
I wish you well with this. But you have to understand that most people here (well, me anyway) will be wondering "what's a figure?". "what map?", "what's a life point (let alone a mob of them)?", "How do dungeons relate to Tetris?".

Possibly there are forums where these things are well understood terms of art, and you might get better help there. If there are questions appropriate to this "Lobby" they will have to be framed in more generic (and well specified) terms. At best the help can only be generic as well.
