## interesting site on floating point numbers

Ran into this highly bookmarkable link on Stackoverflow on why floating point math works the way it does on computers:

The Floating-Point Guide - What Every Programmer Should Know About Floating-Point Arithmetic

It breaks the problem description down into layman's terms quite nicely I'd say. (PS: it is English)

Nah, Goldberg's article is the only article you need to study: What Every Computer Scientist Should Know About Floating-Point Arithmetic

kind regards,

Jos

kindest regards,

Elitist doesn't strike you as a rather harsh insult that is not to be taken seriously? Pardon. If you're just trolling me back: well done, you got me.

I must admit I didn't click through more than three pages so I didn't know the quality of the "deeper explanation". I was rather attracted to the simple explanation only.

You shouldn't ask questions that can easily be answered by a bit of reading: the top right corner of all my replies contains a 'Location' field; voila. Also, about your path problem: it has nothing to do with Java; it's an elementary computer (Windows, Linux, Mac etc) problem and it's also thoroughly explained in the tutorials; it just takes a bit of reading ...
