neither IE or FF can find applet even after uninstalling reinstalling
I'm running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. My main browser is FF 18.0.1 I have IE 9.0.8112.16421. I can't get the java applets to run on either of them (I like to use Securnia osi). I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I even went to the windows program to check fully uninstalled before reinstalling.
Also, the instructions for things - my java control panel only has 4 tabs and not like the 5 tab control panel in all the screen shots I've seen.
My computer is clean and I run online scans as well as routine scans with my antimalware programs.
What can I do to fix this and why is my control panel not like it should be and can that be fix?

What exactly do you mean that your browsers can't find the applet? Do you get an error message? Something else? Can you run jars? What about webstart applications?
Do you have the Java browser plugin installed? How to Ask Questions the Smart Way

Re: neither IE or FF can find applet even after uninstalling reinstalling
When trying to run securnia it can't find the applet and won't download it either.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.
I don't know what jars is. I don't know what you mean but webstart applications.
FF can't load the java plugin, don't know about IE - don't use it.
