    In your stack trace none of your code is involved; probably because an event was generated (a mouse click? a key press?), but when a component wanted to repaint itself some object reference was null. The stacktrace shows that it happened in a JTextComponent (or a derivative thereof). You have to show us the relevant code to see if we can give more detailed advice.
