Question Maven and JBoss: Can I use maven to deploy just files to JBoss after deploying war?

    Hi everyone,

I come from more of an Ant background and have no experience with Maven other than running the command mvn clean install.
And as for JBoss only the past few days been using this. Normally have worked with Tomcat so I knew where the folders were created after deploying a war file.
This is just useless to me at this point.

What I need to be able to do is to
    1. The initial build and deployment of the application (Done)
    2. Make minor changes to the source code for just the web accessible files (html, json, xml, js etc)
    A. Run Maven to only push these files out to the deployed folder that was extracted from the initial war file (I could do this with Ant)

I cannot deal with having to do rebuilds of the war file for every little modification I need to push as the build process takes on average 12 minutes.
I need to be able to make quick changes and quick pushes in my dev environment to my local JBoss server instead of all this WASTED time waiting for a build to complete.

How are you all doing this for your web apps?

Eh. Hot deployment from the IDE and only use Maven when you've got an actually completed deployable artifact?

Thanks for the suggestion. Being that I have not used any tool for Hot Deploy I looked up and found some information on configuring JBoss to allow for it as well as downloaded and configured (I think) Eclipse Window Server settings for using JBoss. Also the server tab.

Unfortunately when I start up JBoss my project does not load. If I start JBoss via cmd line it works.
So, not sure what to search on exactly to find the way to configure this.

Well guides on how to setup JBoss within your particular IDE would be a good place to start. Don't be too narrow in your search, often times you will find the information in articles that are about a particular web framework.
