Default Question about Maven Standard Directory Layout

Ok, I'm pretty new to maven, read a lot of tutorials and of course lots of docs on maven.apache.org

Since I like the idea of convention over configuration, I used the suggested Maven Standard Directory Layout for my new test-project.

What I don't understand is the relevance of "src/main/config". As far as I understand, I should put my config-files in there. But building my project as a WAR, this directory is completely ignored. Most of the sample code I found suggests to put config-files within "src/main/resources/..." and of course that works - but why a config-directory then?

    Any help appreciated...

Default Re: Question about Maven Standard Directory Layout

I've used Maven for years, I've never read about or had any need for a config directory.
