how to use XML databases

Hi,
Has anyone done native XML database? If the answer is yes, are you using the XML:DB API or some other access method ?
Do you have information to share with me?

XML not good for database.

when it 's big , slowly for access time.

You can use Apache Xindice or eXist. I've had a good experience with eXist. If you don't mind commercial alternatives you might also want to look at TextML server.
