Java Web and Application Servers
I know Java language and have developed desktop application with it. I need to learn Internet related technologies using Java and since I am going to invest money and time I need your advise with regard to selecting the commonly used Java web server, application server, and any other technologies. I have used WAMP (Apache web server and PHP application server with MySQL) but have no idea with respect to the Java world. I appreciate your help in advance.

You should probably start at Welcome to The Apache Software Foundation!, as you're already familiar with Apache, and they provide a large set of Java code and libraries, including the Tomcat JSP and Servlet container, the Derby embedded Java database, the log4j logging library, and many many others. Quite a few developers build fine working web applications using only Apache technology.
