    wiki readers do know more :) but to sum things up:

    Design Patterns are a group of practices to solve certain problems or achive certain goals. These patterns may touch totally different aspects, like not using singleton variables or when to use database tiers.

    i'd say MVC is well-known design pattern in terms of software architecture, that is how your software is organized internally.

    Design pattern means set of rules that are followed by our senior people.
    MVC is one of design pattern.
