If you want to check any folder with in WEB-INF then use as
InputStream input = getServletContext().getResourceAsStream(filepath);

Sorry. Here server in the sense it is not the application or web server where the application resides. we can think it as another system. So, here i want to open a folder (exists in another system )from the client system.
I think now my requirement will be clear to all.
