Document about Parallel Computing

Hi there, I have a mini project whose purpose is implement parallel sorting algorithms. I can use OpenMP or MPI ( with the C programming language) , but I want to use java due to its graphic capable. The problem is, I have no document about this subject. So, if anyone know parallel computing and documents ( for java) , please help me.

Try to find something written by Doug Lea, anything; he's the creator of the java.util.concurrent package and he's a genious (if I may say so ;-)
