Tiles in JSF

I'm working with JSF and I don't understand a tool that comes with struts: Tiles.
I would like to integrate them to my new project of faces, because it seems that is very easy to work with the presentation. I saw some examples from the book, I did them but they didn't work
If you have some example to share with me, I would thank you.
