sorry to say, but i don't like any of the given options. :(
To speak frankly the above slogans are not that much effective for me, they are like routine so i requesting others to give their slogan, freely not here in this thread (Start a new thread by the admin/ moderator),
Then members may take active participation in that thread as you know in this world giving free suggestions every one likes and also when they get praise for that :-)
so moderators from there you can choose the selective ones and you can put the poll on them. What do you say.
Its your wish sorry for anything, just speaking what i have in my mind to make this community some thing more intereseting
Java Forums: A community to Help all
Sorry to hear that - do you flat out not like them all evenly? Or do you think one is okay over another one? I find it hard to believe someone could dislike them all evenly, but that's just me. Not liking them all is fine, but you could at least pick the best one, or the one that you dislike the least. You could always simply not vote - this is also your decision.
Not sure if you read my previous post - but this topic has been discussed in another thread for quite some time. Excuse my ability to be upfront and direct, but where were you? :)
Keep something in mind - these are not my slogans... I think maybe one or two may be- I'll have to check the thread. But the majority of them are a direct result of the active partition that you are just now suggesting. After further review of that thread, the ones that I suggested were only added to the final list after gathering input from those that contributed.
Should we turn back time because a couple of folks were late to the party? This doesn't make it fair to the ones that have already voted. However, this also isn't fair to you... but in the interest of moving forward, if you don't like the current slogan choices - be sure to be around in a few months and if you feel it's necessary, start a new discussion about it. Any changes made to the current list sets the change back further and makes the current poll illegitimate... thus changes cannot be made.... ugh, I think I'm repeating myself....
How do we feel about this everyone? Should we move this poll somewhere more visible, such as the General sections or is 12 votes sufficient? (it's currently a virtual tie)
Let's hear your thoughts.
Hey Captain, I don't think 12 votes is enough. At least 30-35 votes make sense to me. ;)
I have an idea. But not sure is it possible here. Can't we add a sticky link on each sub-forum here to this thread, just a link with a simple explanation. What you think about that?
I agree that we don't have enough votes... however, in reviewing this thread, we have yet to hear from Java Tip regarding a newsletter form of communication sent to everyone's private message inbox. I think this is more efficient and appealing versus multiple links in other subforums. Folks would receive an email about a message awaiting them and could choose to ignore it altogether or to address that message by reading it and coming to this thread. I'll notify Java Tip and see if he has time to stop by here and give us his thoughts.
Ok Captain, PM to all members can be really useful. So most of the members at least get into the thread and see. I hope no one misses this, since e-mail notifications are used lots of members.
I can send an email to all members about the poll. If one of the native english speakers can prepare an email, it will be good for me. ;)
I think it's better if Captain can do it. You know that, since English is not my native language it's not better to take that responsibility. :)
Look for a pm sometime today. :)
Message sent... you have a pm Java Tip.
Personally, I'd like to see a minimum of 50 votes... not sure if we can reach it but more than 20 is okay too. With an email notification, I'm confident we'll have a lot more voters.
Cheers!
I think it's much better if we have at least 50 votes to take a decision here. Because we have large number of members at the time, and lots of active members too. Looking on that figures I have a doubt that even 50 is enough.
Me too Captain, I don't know that you have send that e-mail body to JavaTip. Anyway even me, there is no such a mail in my mail inbox. :(
Sorry for delay. My laptop disk crashed and i temporarily logged in to the site. I will not be able to check the forum for 2-3 weeks. But i am checking your PM now. I will try to perform required action (e.g. sending email to all users) now. Let me check.Quote:

Good luck with the hardware Java Tip. :)
Hopefully you can send this out at your leisure. Cheers.
Hi again,
Thanks Captain for the email template. ;)
Now all emails are sent. I hope we will get a little bit more votes. ;)
Very efficiently done Java Tip. :)
Cheers!
Since I am new, I really don't want to vote for something that the community doesn't stand for. So really what does the community stand for what are the goals/what is the community trying to accomplish over all others? Until I know that I really can't justify my vote....
May be the exact slogan not mentioned there. But you can select a one which is close to yours in meaning. It really make sense here pal.
