At the time we not allowed it. Because people used it for some improper things. Specially for commercial purpose and so. Links too.
yeah thats why I said senior members because then you need so many post before you can have it

And, no fool would waste his/her time posting unreasonable/nonsense reply if he/she just want to post links,advertisements and etc....
That is possible, there are remote users that could still do that.... that's why adding more phrases on a signature is not allowed.....

I agreed with you. But there may be some too. I found one of a user in different forum, that he put links all thread where he got contributions with other users.

There is no much different. Because active member doesn't pointed that he/she should have rights to do it. Some active members are very keen on Java, while some of them are newbie to Java.
What does it matter how much java they know. A signature is there to make a statement every time someone posts. Mine happens to be funny what does it matter how much I know java and my ability to have a funny signature.
There is a reason. We can't allowed to add anything not related to Java in the signature at the time. Hence it's related to Java we have to think about it correctness/trustworthy and so on. Can you guaranteed that?
Even if you can do it, we have to check it too. At the time it's a big task to us.
May be it's funny for you. But some of them it can be really hurt.

I don't think we have any suggestion for this. Because we can use more lines on the signature, but may be other members can't do it. That may be the reason. Even me, put the third line to checked it and fine for me too.
