I definitely agree with the moving of the Introductions forums- this should be at the top where the "New to Java" forum is- they simply go together in the same sub-forum.
While I agree with the inclusion of Discrete Structures, math is very general and crucial to all programming languages- however, we've already addressed an Algorithms section, so this is probably sufficient, for now.
Lastly, I do think condensing the forums will be of service to the way folks literally view and scan the forums- this needs a deeper look and unfortunately I don't see a solution in one day.

Thank you Captain, Hopefully more members will comment on this, my suggestions were not to meant to be instantaneous, but rather long term as you said.

I think in the algorithms page you should include a complete analysis of the algorithm since that is a major point. this would almost suffice the math that I think we should add.

Another thought would be to have a section where people could post projects they have perviously worked on with a description of what it does. I know when we present our projects in class I always learn something new or see somebody do something that I knew but with a slight twist that makes it that much better

Not a bad idea actually. But we have consider about the projects people working on. You know, we can added projects which we have done in college and so on. But how about real world industry project. We can't let them to others. Even Java open source, we can't just give details away on projects.
So, depend on there choices, it's ok.

Well the projects would be set up like the java tips page where a user post a thread, then its approved by the admin. I don't know about if someone post their companies code. I would just have something that says your not accountable for copyrighted code.

Why I say is, lots of people hang on here is from a organization/private sector. And they do really amazing projects. So from those things we can learn a lot, that's true.
And some people can post those codes. We don't have any ownership doing at office. Some people don't like that and not obey it. So it can be a mess for our community. Because someone can think that our community is a place staling codes. ;)

Yeah I see what you mean. I still think that there should at least be a place where people can describe different techinques they have used when working with a project.
