Suggestion: Forum for posting example code
I may be wrong, but it does not look like we have a place to post example code.
It would be helpful to have a chance to look at code that other people have created successfully before posting questions asking for help. There is always the possibility that no-one will have created a similar code, but it would make it easier to solve problems on your own. Possible problems could be placed above the code, allowing people to immediately look for problems they may have run into. I personally had one experience looking for example code through google and never found any in days of searching. We would probably need an entirely new area (like General Java and Java IDEs) with subforums.
Hope this gets considered and created. :)
PS: Please correct me if I'm wrong about this forum area not existing. If the above doesn't make sense to you, ignore it, but remember it - might be useful!
And if you just randomly taught yourself to program, well... you're just like me!

If you mean the already working sample codes, "Java Tips" forum is created exactly for that purpose. However, in order to prevent spam, it is moderated. So, if you plan to post tips there, expect to wait some time for their approval.

Thumbs up for Java Tip comment here. As he said, forum is moderated for prevent from spamming. Once you post a thread you cannot replay/edit that until moderator look at it approve. Best thing you can do is, once you post a new thread there, send a PM to any moderator here in our community with the link or the thread title.

:) So you are looking to post a thread there? Go ahead and send it. I'll look at it, and other moderators too. Major thing you have to keep in mind is, don't post code segments without testings.

looked at it... I have an Idea, and have tested, but I need to learn how to shorten strings first. Posted a thread in New to Java about that.

Fine, once you finish your R&D on that wants to post it in here in our community as a long term reference material, do it as we explain here.
