    Hi,

I rented multiple systems which I maintain on my own. That way you are completely free to do whatever you want and need but you also get a big load of work. You have to administrate the system and make sure that everything is working as expected. So you need knowledge of the operating system (I am using Debian) and you have to make sure that the system is secure (e.g. configuration, backup of data, regular updates, ...)

Buying some kind of service takes away that work but you are limited to the service offered by the vendor.

A mixture could be "managed servers". On these you can still install your software but the administration of the system is done by the company. So you are only responsible to keep your software up to date which is much easier.

So rented servers was my solution.
