The AppFuse project has a lot of framework integration that you might want to take a look. Here is the link to official website: Home - AppFuse 2 - Confluence. You can choose the framework that you want to use in your project from Spring MVC, Struts, JSF, Tapestry. On the data access layer you can use Hibernate of the JPA.
