    Default What to do

I've just started java a couple of weeks back. Prior to that, i had just went through the console basics of java a year back. Though i should mention, i havent done swing and awt, since my work doesnt require working on them. But i have gone through jsp and servlets (i'm not the ace at them, but can get things done). I have no prior web based programming experience, and 'was' more interested in C/C++ earlier.

I've been asked to learn spring now. I tried few internet tutorials on spring, but am not getting it. I have to work on Eclipse helios and tomcat with mysql. Which book should i prefer, from where should i start reading? How should i approach ? Or should i ask the seniors to slow down and gimme some coding to do instead of spring.

Spring has some of the best documentation online for an OS project.
Here's the getting started bit from spring source.

Now, if you've not got a great grasp of Java in general then you might find it something of a hill to climb. It does assume a fair knowledge of how Java works.
Please do not ask for code as refusal often offends.
