    Re: Recursive squares exercise java

    How would you draw them in a different order by hand? Likely re ordering them will come down to just reorganizing the lines of code.

    Re: Help with searching through Arrays

    The most challenging part of this is the fact that you have multiple arrays for one type of data (do you need to store it in different arrays? Having just a single array will make this much easier)....

    Re: I need a fun idea.

    Re: finished the book...now I'm stuck :(

    While the title "for dummies" may make some uneasy, they are certainly good books. I usually pick them up as supplements for classes (for example, Calculus for dummies I read last semester). You...

    Re: Multiple Subclasses

    You could make a super class something like Item, which has the common attributes of these to different classes. Then you can subclass this for Book and CD and you can absolutely handle them easily....

    Re: string split problem

    As Waflix said, and the error hints, you tried to put a String array in a String. A String array is an array such that each element is itself a String.

    Re: How Do You Start Learning Java?

    To add more that may be a bit more beginner friendly, try head first java. You may be able to find it on google by searching for pdf's. There are plenty other good books, try checking the book...

    Re: what is the best compiler?

    Eclipse or Netbeans are the only contenders really (I'm sure others will disagree with me here). Check the sticky post about peoples favorite editors.

    Re: Mandelbrot set!

    I've still not sped it up as much as I'd like, but I've added color, and made it a bit more general.

    Are Julia sets anytime it is iterating a function other than z^2+c.

    So far the most...

    Here is some code I used to make Pong a while ago. I'd recommend you read it and see if it can help you out.

    Mandelbrot set!

    Hey guys,

    I haven't been doing any interesting projects lately (besides class projects, which aren't very interesting). So, as an exercise I decided to tackle mandelbrot sets. It's actually been...

    Re: Help with simple program

    That's Javascript, and not Java. Java and Javascript are different languages. I suggest you look for a javascript forum.

    That said, I double

    Re: Declare variables inside a for loop?

    I suggest you declare an i element array prior to the for loop (or another data structure) and fill it in the loop.

    players[i] = ...;
    }

    Re: Boolean help, again.

    If you call amINum on a and propDiv(a) you will get false.
