Default Free SCJP / OCPJP Exam Simulator

I take this opportunity to shamelessly 'advertise' a free SCJP/OCPJP exam simulator. Five years ago, I made a post here about ExamLab, a free exam simulator I created. As we have reached 100,000 downloads at the beginning of 2013, I took it to the cloud running as a web-based software. In addition to all the good things there were in the previous desktop version, the web-based version has more features:

    1. More questions - no we have one diagnostic exam, four practice exams, and one final exam.
    2. No out-dated questions such as serialization questions and drag-and-drops.
    3. Better and detailed explanations are provided for each question.
    4. Simulates the new real exam user-interface.
    5. All your exam sessions are saved in your account, so you can review them anytime you want.
    6. If you lose your internets of power in the mid of doing an exam, you timer will be stopped, and you will be asked to recover your last exam session the next time you log in with your account.

Believe it or not, all these are for FREE, as we run only on donations. So go ahead, create an account on ExamLab, the free SCJP/OCPJP mock exam simulator and start practicing.

    Thanks,
    Devaka

Serialization is not outdated; far from it actually, its more prudent than ever.

Even though I admire the intent, I wonder what this service will actually result in though. To help people study, or to help people pass without having to study?

"drag and drop" is part of the OCJP?
Please do not ask for code as refusal often offends.

Gimbal2, I am not sure if you misinterpreted what I meant by "out-dated questions", but what I meant is serialization is not in current objectives of OCPJP 5/6. Moreover, drag and drops are removed from all versions.

ExamLab, as all other practice exams do, help people to study. I'm just having a hard time trying to realize how passing-without-study would have something to do with any legitimate practice exam. For those who didn't 'study', they won't even be able to answer the questions in the practice exams at the first place. Did you probably try to mean something that I couldn't correctly interpret?

    Thanks,
    Devaka

It's probably to help people study. Those that want to pass without studying will end up posting their assignments here on the forums :)

Apologies, I indeed misinterpreted the serialization thing.

I know and believe what the service is intended for which is why I admire the effort; I was questioning what it will be (mostly) used for. Because plenty of people do in fact not want to study, they want to cram trivia in their head and pass the certification so they can put it on their resume. Freely available practice exams make that process a lot easier, but that would depend on how easy it is to look up answers belonging to questions.

I also believe what you say and that it won't actually really be possible for people, but it will open the flood gate for the practice questions to be dumped in this and other forums :/

    Ah, that makes sense.
ExamLab, however, is something somewhat different. In addition to making people pass the exam, it also encourages people to become real programmers. One example is most of the explanations given in ExamLab encourage people to test and practice the concept with their own program. Furthermore, ExamLab offers assignments that people can download and do. They can also send their submissions to ExamLab to review if they want to. All these features are there to make them real programmers per se, rather than just making them 'certified programmers'.
