Looks like a scam to me. Title says free, not-so-small print says a fee of 300 will be charged -- without specifying the currency, but possibly INR -- and lays down a geographical constraint. But the biggest giveaway is that the promoters remain unnamed.

waq, do you have anything to say to counter my allegations?

Oh, and Google finds one other result that seems to no longer exist, which to me implies that moderators of that site have killed the posting. Maybe we should too.

    Hi Darryl, Fubarable-

This isn't a scam, it for real !

Second if you open the link that I have provided you will get all the details there, it specifically mentions the location as Delhi/NCR area in India and obviously that would be in INR. And there are no promoters or sponsors, its a completely voluntary initiative and there is a very small registration fees of Rs. 300/- and that's to manage the space and arrangements. You would know how much the costly institutes charge for any java course !

Other than that there would be no cost for this course as I have mentioned on the link. I am doing this just because of my desire to share my knowledge and train people in an effective and efficient manner that's lacking in our part of the world. I take normal java batches also but I have decided to take these type of courses every once in a while just because I know there are guys out there who can't afford the very costly computer centers and there are guys too who are desperately in need of a good trainer !!!

I hope this erases all doubt's , please feel free to get back to me in case you have any other queries. Or I would be happy if you could refer some aspiring java learners to the site so that they get benefited by this initiative.

    Thanks,
    Waq

Well, so your interpretation of 'free' is Rs. 300. And the promoters still remain unnamed, which doesn't say much about their confidence in their own reputation.

Well, I have given you complete details about the intention to deliver the training and told you very explicitly that there are no promoters involved and this is a completely individual desire for quality java training.

I am sorry but I cant provide you further explanation than this because on one hand we don't have quality education centers and we always seem to criticize and on the other hand when someone comes up with a good initiative, we end up questioning and doubting too much rather than appreciate the intended effort and thought of the person.

We can always criticize after we give it a try or we can always learn from others about how was the course delivered actually. There are no limits to that !

And my interpretation of free is free here, I would be taking absolutely nothing out of this for me, again I have clearly mentioned that this nominal fees is just for the accommodation purposes. That's it, nothing else !!!

I hope you will take this in the positive state and refer some aspiring java programmers to the site who are either new to the language or are finding it difficult to write programs in Java.

Actually, I much prefer to refer aspiring Java programmers to The Java™ Tutorials and forums like these.

Your choice mate, I can't change your opinion, even I refer guys to these forums and the official oracle documents but I firmly believe that we have got some issues in our part of the world and I just want to do something for the guys out there are in need of serious help. That's it !!

And I told you we as humans have got this habit of criticizing unduly rather than appreciate someone who is ready to contribute in some way to the community !

Anyways I am not forcing anyone and neither would do so to join and I wouldn't do anysort of marketing either, But I am happy I have got a decent response until now.
