DockingFrames
Hello

I've made a little project, and I invite anyone to have a look at it. Any comment is welcome

[Edit: unbelievable, a small security leak and someone uses it. Well, the webstart-demo should now run again]

Well, I can't help with the last two goals.
But you might have a look at Docking Frames - you'll find an open source extension of Swing, allowing to "drag and drop" whole panels of your gui.

-> Screenshots
-> Demonstration using Webstart

(* gui = graphical user interface)
