I added two more options to the poll and selected Netbeans.
Let me know if you want to concentrate only on those two choices. I believe this is better. But you are the creator of the poll. If you want you can keep it simple.
Actually it's ok. But what I believe is that Netbeans and Eclipse is just another IDE, right?
You are right but i would like to see which one is more preferred here.

I used notepad++ and a command prompt to work
The IDE's are to heavy for my computer sometimes, i already have lotsa data in my HD, I have netbeans installed, but i never use it, the loading screen itself took lotsa amount of time, at least it is in my computer
Being to dependant to tools and a comfy environment makes u less aware and too spoiled sometimes, eventually leading to wanna do things in shortcut and easy ways without understanding the fundamentals, at least from my point of view

Why did you waist your memory. Actually IDEs are quite useful than Notepad, simply that you can easy find keywords, variables used, etc, etc.Quote:

It's just, im still in the learning process, kinda afraid i'll get too laid back in analyzing codes because of the too helpful features that the IDE support and provides.
People may consider this as taking the hard way climbing a mountain without proper tools, but from my point of view, it's enrichment of my education, not to be too dependable on the easy way that might eventually make me forget bout the concepts :p :D
Ya agreed with you. Start from the difficult way guide to the success at all.
I use JEdit and a command prompt. JEdit gives me enough syntax sugar and the command prompt gives me the flexibility. I also write code in other languages and they all have command prompt access. This way I can use one editor and one way to compile them all.

Just checked in wiki and google, said the protagonist of the Pulitzer Prize winning book The Soul of a New Machine.
And from the holtsoft website, Ready is Holt Software's Java IDE designed specifically for education to get students writing programs quickly without wasting time learning an IDE.
Yup, it's the 1st time i've heard it too, an educational easy to learn IDE eh?
Too bad it's not free :(

Java itself is a open software right, free in a sort of manner
