Re: how to approach sjcp?
I'm studying for the test right now. I bough a book on it called SCJP but its for Java 6 but the reviews are really good and I believe I can take the Java 6 test instead of the Java 7.
How to start preparing?
There is allot that the exam covers and they try to get really tricky. I would probably recommend using a book that is made to get you ready.
How to register to write sjcp exam?

what are the dates these exams will be conducted?
I believe you call places registered to do them and they have computers you sit down and go through the questions
