I'd like to get certified

Hi all,

I am new to Java (but not programming). I would like to get certified. What is the way to go about it? Where do I start? Must I take courses from Oracle U or do I only need to take the exams from Oracle. Any help is most appreciated.

If you a good self learner no need to take any courses in advance. Practice a lot and refer as much as materials related with Java.

Practicing is necessary but not sufficient to get certified! Even a good programmer that has written thousand of time a main() will not be sure if also something like "static public void main(String[] args)" will compile and run without exceptions or errors. There are courses especially for preparing this certification and such a curse you will also learn what kind of questions will be asked and all topics that are relevant for the certificate.

PS: On the other side, even if a person has the java certification will not mean that he is a good programmer.

OCM certificates only need take course in oracle university.

For Basic certifications there is no need.
