Java Editor dor Windows XP needed
Dear Members of the forum,

My name is Frank and I am new to this and Java community in general. I have some experience with BASIC language and have never worked with OOPs like C++ and Java. I figured out that I can do programming with Java using Sun Microsystems' latest JDK package and tried it already with windows command prompt. OK, this is doable, I guess, but sometimes a bit cumbersome without a decent editor which could tell you where your problem or error might be.

So, my question is: Is there a decent Java editor for Windows XP with free license to download online? If yes, can you please direct me to the online link where I can download it. I used Kate software in Linuz based OS, but as you know I have XP and all the link I found by googling are either pricy or full of scam.

Please help and I would be grateful to the eternity!

Thank you in advance!

With best regards,

Frank

Or for a lite weight one, try JCreator.

Yes, NetBeans is the good choice, I think.

You are welcome. Since this is the first time you are working on with NetBeans, it's better to go through the quick start tutorial available on the official web site. It's really helpful.
