    Google!

You can find plenty of resources: books, tutorials, forums etc.

... How did you learn C? Learn Java in the same way.

Despite that fact that C and Java have quite a few keywords in common and they both have all those funny operators, they are two entirely different languages: C has the function as its fundamental entity, while Java has the class which is a user defined type. Java allows for the entire object oriented shebang (minus a bit) while C allows for 'object based' programming at best. Trying to get a good understanding of object oriented programming is more important than all those operator frillies and function/method thingies ...

    kind regards,

I don't want to make a habit if disagreeing with you, but IMO you can't get a good understanding of OO without having something to practice with. Which means you need an OO language to work with. Which means you need to learn the basics of Java before you dive into the wonderful world of OO programming which is one of those things that takes most people at least a decade to fully understand and even longer to master.

On the other hand: if we didn't disagree on basically everything, we'd have no fun at all! So *sticks out tongue and makes obscene hand gestures*

I beg to differ here: practising Java without having at least a basic knowledge of OO results in that typical beginner's code: everything crammed in one huge main( ... ) method, swirling from left to right and back again; something that makes everyone nauseus ... I do agree about it taking a decade to fully understand programming in anything at all.

    kind regards,

Yep. Good stuff. If you don't make mistakes you can't learn from them.
