need help with json program - n00b
Okay so I took an intro Java class in college like a year and half ago. I don't remember much, but I feel I am okay understanding logic and language.
I am a streamer on Twitch.tv, and I want to use Java to do some cool stuff.
There are various json files I can grab on the internet, and I want to grab them, and then pull certain info out, that I can show on my stream through OBS (Open Broadcaster Software).
I know the last two parts of the equation. I need certain info outputted to separate local txt files and then I will use OBS to show them on my stream.
But its the 'pulling the json files and obtaining info from them and then outputting it' parts that I have no idea how to do.
JSON files in question:
So like I would want to know my latest follower, so like it'd be like XXX.Follows.user."display_name" would be the info I need.
So I would like to know how many followers I have, so it'd be like XXX."followers"
And I'd need it to check like every 10-30 seconds and replace the data in the txt files.
It'd have to be a program I can run from my desktop.
Is this possible with Java?
If anyone is willing to help me, or steer me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful.

Anything is possible with Java or any other programming environment. The limit is never in the tooling, always in the programmer.
So can YOU do it, having done only some basic Java in school 1.5 years ago?
