Unhappy please help, java 64 bit won't go online.

yea, pretty much exactly what the title says, tho, I know I have a 64 bit OS, my computer, will simply not download the 64 bit version of java when I hit the big ol' red button on the main page. and yes, I have gone to the downloads page and downloaded the one that's 64 bit, but whenever I try to play games, it simply won't let me go online. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing seems to work. I have been dealing with the lower 32 bit for about 3 months now, hoping that the next update would auto if it for me, sadly, it did not. any help would be greatly appreciated, as I do not wish to continue using a 32 bit java, as I can't allot more memory to games unless running a 64 bit java. any real help would be amazing. thank you. and sorry if this is posted in the wrong section of the forum, as I did not see a bugs section.

Are you using Internet Explorer for this? If so, IE only wants 32 bit version plug ins.

    kind regards,

... if you use the 32 bits IE, which up to and including Windows 7 is the default IE. You can start the 64 bits IE through a different shortcut link called 'internet explorer (64-bit)' and then the 64 bits Java runtime + plugin should be used.

Starting from Windows 8 the 64 bits IE has become the default IE I recently learned.

not sure what is the problem, downloading jre/jdk, installing it or using it with IE?
what exactly means "it simply won't let me go online", is there some system messages?
did you check security levels in java control panel?
