    Yeah that's true, I have no experience with Windows 8. It would be odd if it impacts this much though.

    See my reply #9; in Linux they make the clock handler 'hurry' because the next 'jiffie' (a very small time unit) may expire. The interrupt handler acts as if Linux were a RTOS.
