    It appears that your code is either a poor copy of the code posted at The MASSIVE Java Game Development Source Code Thread, or is an incorrectly modified copy. If you want to know why the paddles don't move, just do a side-by-side comparison with the posted code.

    Note that it is okay to copy freely posted code (unless if this is an assignment), but do make the effort to learn the Java language, and to study how the program works.
