    Smile Hello.

My name is Alecu Stefan-Iulian , from Romania and I am 12yrs old. I know some basics in Java, so I have 3 questions:
    • At a this young age, will I survive in this Java world?
    • I want to do a 2D/2.5D game, and which of these engines are good for my purpose (Maybe for 2.5D, since I'd really want to do a RPG game/ Minecraft-ish platformer, and my game engine can contain multiplayer support and/or server chat, along with the spirites, sounds, graphics, etc.)? And which game engine is the best in this 2D/2.5D category?
    • Can I import stuff made in C++ into Java (like, if I have a game engine with all the goodies I need, but I want to import it into my game, what tool can I use for conversion)?

    1. Sure, but you may lack a great deal of prerequisite knowledge to really get as far as you want to go at the moment

    2. None really that I know of, game engines tend to focus on making 3D possible. You can still do 2D games with 3D graphics and gameplay, but that requires at least basic knowledge of 3D capabilities. You may in stead want to use LibGDX and not a full engine.

    3. Anything is possible, but I doubt that you will be able to do it at this stage if I am bluntly honest; I also rather doubt that you WANT to do it, if you have stuff in C++ that you want to use, better stick to C++ for the rest too. Mixing and mashing platforms is just a head ache you don't need.

No, LWJGL is far more low-level and just a thin wrapper around OpenGL (and OpenAL, and JInput); LibGDX on the other hand makes it far easier to do 2D games and deploy it to different platforms (PC, Android, iOS and HTML 5/javascript should be possible). For PC games LibGDX does use LWJGL under the hood.
