    Default In/Un install issues

I realize that this not the right place to post this, please forgive me. Iíve been looking for help forever.

I had Java7 (?) installed. I Wanted to install the newest version. So, I uninstalled the one I had. At the very end of the process we had a power blink and the computer lost power. I looked all over the 6 drives for any sign of Java. Didnít find any so started installing the new one. Immediately process stopped with a message saying can not install because Java is already installed. Do you want to overwrite it? Clicked ďyesĒ a message popped up saying something like you canít overwrite this because itís not installed. And a forever loop started. Do any of you guru types have any idea what I should try now? Iíve already run several reg cleaners. Any comments, ideas or rants would be greatly appreciated.
    Tnx

I've never had such problem in installing / uninstalling Java in my machine. What operating system are you using? If you are using Windows every Java program (JDK / JRE) usually installed in the Program Files directory.

Using Win 7 on this machine. Java was (is?) installed on C://progrsm files (86x). Most of my programs are installed on my E drive and associated data files on the F drive. Yeah, I've never had this issue before either. The only references to java I can find is a couple of registry entries in the HIKEY_USERS hive. I was going to just delete any reference to java I found but I've done enough registry editing to know not to just delete just any entry <grin>. I have found a few sites offering fixes to this problem but I've been around the block enough to know they're just prettied up reg cleaners. I was even going to get one of them till I got Conduit crap when I downloaded the trial version. I'm just lost. I was even thinking I might format my C drive and start over. Then I quit thinking.
