    Default how to run a java program in every OS

    i just finish my mini game and i would like to share it with my friends.. so i make my java file to jar and i send it to my friends.. but none can run it.. so i try onother way i seach in web and i found one program with name launch4j which will make my jar file to .exe ... i try that too but with no good results.. any help?

    Just ask your friends to download and install the JRE for their systems.

    Of course, that assumes that all required resources are packaged in the .jar or in an associated /lib folder which is also to be copied to the target machine. More in this Lesson: Packaging Programs in JAR Files (The Java™ Tutorials > Deployment)

    i use Eclipse to make the Jar file.. So to run a java app it's a must to have JRE right?
    there is no other way to run a a java program ?

    As you've seen, there are other ways to get a Java app to run on one platform. But the JRE is the key to Java's cross-platform portability.
    Get in the habit of using standard Java naming conventions!

    This is like asking "how do I run a Mac application on a computer without MacOS". You don't, you need MacOS. Similarly to run a Java application you need a Java runtime. For some reason the first example makes perfect sense to people while the second one confuses to no end.
